Route 1 Recording was founded in 1996 by Chris Hudson and is located in Monticello, MS in the the middle of 300 acres of raw nature. Route 1 quickly earned a reputation as "the place to be" if you want to avoid the often sterile environment of conventional recording studios and the hustle and bustle of metropolitan areas.

The overall philosophy of Route 1 is to provide professional quality recordings at reasonable prices with a true focus on relaxation, and a healthy dose of vibe. Our client list, regional and national, has been growing steadily and includes all genres of music from rock & roll to bluegrass.
