Studio
A is the main recording room
at Route 1. Its dimensions are 20' X 24' recording area with a 17'
vaulted ceiling and a balcony around the upper edge of the room.
The ceiling is covered in 1/2" poplar wood to add warmth and liveness
to it's sound. Two isolation booths are available (1 live,1 dead)
. Plenty of room and vibe...
The control
room is a spacious 15' X 24' with plenty of room for comfort
and listening. All areas of the studio including the inside of the
isolation booths are also visible from the control room for maximum
visibility between artists and engineers while recording.
Studio B
is basically an outdoor screened-in lounge about 300' away from
the studio in the surrounding woods . In addition to being a great
getaway from the studio to relax, write or whatever, it is also
equipped with four mic inputs and a headphone jack linked to the
main studio for recording or overdubbing outside. Victoria Williams
actually cut some of her vocals out here when The Harmony Ridge
Creek Dippers were here. Studio B has become popular for
live recordings such as bluegrass or any other combination of acoustic
instruments and also for use as an outdoor echo chamber for that
"natural" reverb sound and of course the crickets start singing
at dusk. It also features full plumbing for parties and get-togethers
as well as an outdoor shower for anyone who wants to get back to
nature. It's dimensions are 16' X 16' with a 4' front porch for
sittin' or cookin'.
